Ocean Planet: How climate change will change the definition of country

As earth grows warmer and warmer, some say countries will disapear. The polynesian coutry Tuvalu is expected to be the first one to "disapear". However, acoording to the ONU Sea convention, a country's size is defined by both Land and Water. Therefore, Tuvalusians exile will only be temporal, as they can come back and reclaim their terroritory... or... could they?

The truth is, as water will soon change the landscape of the earth, the movie waterland doesn't fall short from perspective. However the UN does. The ambiguity of international and national treaties on the topic of sea legislation startles. This problem arises because of the definition "contineal shelf" (Article76 sea convention) and "coastal state". What would happen when there is no more "coastal state"? Wars will soon settle this problem by stablishing Global Positioning Limits.

Much before the Moon and Mars, and long after Oil and Gold, the sea would be our more inmediate home and source of energy.

Costa Rica is starting to look to the ocean, as some of it's great richeness are hidden within the Cocos submarine mountain ridge.

Decadence and Culture: Playing with Nation Master



How "educated" do you think you are?
Choose your level of culture for the "educated non-starving world".
Are you then a whale killer, oil head, or consumer?
How is it you can judge the consumers when you kill the most "cultural" species in the world - and still think about the poor uneducated countries...
Is there really a social definition for culture and a correlation with progress?

As there may be some who dislike statistics, I just intended to use it as a language. A language for saying that things are not static, they are resolved in time. If time is then still to deterministic for some, then think of it as imagining contexts. Culture is vision, or in other words, the ability to learn and correlate new things in time. Then as Japan continues to kill whales, the US to burn oil, Europe to consume... they will continue towards their decadence... the cyclic theory of history... with effusive thinkers in between or fearfull profets all along.
"...The greatest of all challenges, the greatest vision, would then be Imagining life when you'll have none left..."

Advance Neonate Learning Center

I believe this is one of the most important topics Humans can discuss. Knowledge is everything and attaining it should be a lot of fun and really really easy.

It has been my line of thought that college should be all about producing ideas and not studying dogmas.

So it will be my task to learn the best way of teaching to learn, to avoid further "pedagogic trauma" (including my own) to future generations. Although I am no pedagogue, I want to learn about the subject. I would very much appreciate the references you can point out for me for further reading.

I am really searching for a "barbaric" reference that I heard of, about a Harvard Psychologist that said that 50% of neuron apoptosis was "normal" in the Human newborn. A quick read through Alberts MBOC 2004 shows that apoptosis cannot be defined as normal, while it depends on the organism surroundings. Cells die from lack of stimuli.

That being said, this is how I pictured a "Scholar Utopia"

at 3-4 months old, child and parents take a savant year and live in a neonate institution. Learning is accomplished as follows:

4 moths old: Intensive Shapes and Numbers games with a neverlasting classical music and languages background music tapes. Tonal language is introduced. Tonal language is a Tone and Note language yet to be developed (?) used in a "rewards fashion".

4months- 1year old. Interaction with Mothertongue from parents, Chinease, English and Spanish from activity managers. By the end of this period, the child should show response to at least 4 languages.

1-6 years old: Group education. A fun way of learning now introduces abstraction and hard sciences ONLY in the form of languages. Methodologies should be developed for maintaining a childs attention and their needs. The following is a first prospect:

Greek Profesor. Should speak only "formal" language, in a special coordinate axis room. e.g. Students should interpret movement as the sound of the words dx/dt and time as dt and specific time as the integral from 0 to the specific time of dt, and so on. It is not really abstract, it should be just another language. The only excercise is the need to communicate with others.

German Professor. This is the language of Science tales and fun experiments.

French Professor The language of caos, of phylosophy.

Chinese Professor. The history Professor, the language of amazing storytelling, about our planet earth inhabitants.

Tonal Professor One of the most important professors that has the really difficult task of making the students use an instrument for communication instead of the other languages.

In every class that are fit to the pupil´s need for attention, painting, exercising and writing are encouraged.

6-15 years old. Updates.

15 years old - up. Ideas factory. Just speak your mind in any language. Some will have restrictions, others will not. Just be a part of Humanity.

well I am sure that many people have written about all of this. I just hope they are not the same people that have tried to find a new energy source for the last 60 years.
